Wednesday 20th February 2013. An email from Father Joel in Malawi.

Hi Paul,

Thanks very much we have received the 400 pounds for food.We are distributing it Monday but the commodity is scarce hence prices  higher than ever.We have very heavy down fall and garden, houses and lives destroyed. It is by chance to access internet due to weather difficulties.

Isaac will write entry exams on 7 March and he is ready for it really.About business plan the one writing for us and he started it  has been away and he will  be in next week Friday. This is the only business can rescue the children because it has no losses, because as prices of commodities go up also we will sell at higher prices.Audrey is also doing fine and writing exams in June. For Robin we have a caring God and he is to be well totally.Greetings to Sue,Robin and Mary please. The container not yet arrived but it is taking long time and when arrives we inform you Paul. Thanks for your efforts and may the good Lord give you always good health and your entire family.

In His Vineyard,

Joel

Just to explain; after the rejection of the proposed maize mill as a business that might generate funds to pay for the orphans, the Living Bread Organisation committee suggested having a food distribution business in which orders of food and meat would be taken to schools, clinics, hospitals, etc.  The committee has engaged someone to write a business plan to test the viability of the proposed business.  When complete Father Joel will send us a copy.

They are trying hard to generate their own funds and think this proposal is a good one.  We will see and hope it is.

Paul.
