Fr. Joel said in January 2015 that a lot of people’s property has been destroyed
because of this. However, Grace the grandmother with 11 grandchildren to look after had her house rebuilt in September 2014 and was safe and well and dry because of that. It was provided from donations from people at St. Chad’s.
Equally devastating is the report that the pensions to priests in the Lake Malawi Diocese paid for by USPG (now U.S.) have not been paid since September 2014. At least one priest we know of is destitute as a result. There is apparently a problem within the Diocese of Lake Malawi.
