We recently received an email from Father Joel with the financial report for our last donation sent late March 2014.

He says:

“Please receive financial report, photos, list of the names and villages of the orphans, elderly and helpless that we are able to assist with food and/or school fees with St. Chad’s donation. As we informed you that this time we walk door to door to distribute items to these people and it takes long or some days.

The grandmother who takes care of 10 orphans with the little Rahim Leveni, 18mths old and growing well has a very bad situation because the house was destroyed by heavy rains and they are in bad situation especially the children and you can see on photo. The two female goats were given to two families of eight orphans and four orphans who are child-headed families. You will see Group Village Head Chidule and village Head Gelevulo handover the goats to the orphans. The chiefs will monitor the goats so that they are not stolen and when they will bear young ones they will be transferred to other orphans and the mother goat will remain theirs wholly. On elderly photos and list we have Watson Mapata of Chakalamba and Madeline Joseph of Jeremani Mpakati Villages who are blind. We have 64 orphans and 22 elderly in our records.

I greatly thank you for all your support.  Should there be any well-wishers the 10 orphans and their guardian need a good house to avoid disaster during coming rainy season. On financial report you will see 2 litres paint to paint the windows which have not been painted since and lime the same, cement and chairs green in colour seated some of members because we lacked them.

Isaac goes to college on 30th June 2014, date changed because first years many failed exams so they are sitting for supplementary hence 2nd June has changed. They sat for exams October last year 2013.

Thank you, we have also just received 18 cartons of clothes yesterday and tomorrow we start distributing them and we will start with the 10 orphans.  The distance to reach these children is about 24 kilometres away since we are not operating within walking distance but we board wrecked pick-ups since buses do not go there.

Greetings to Mary, Sue and your lovely congregation.

In His Mighty name,

Joel”.

As you can see our money is being put to very good use and if you would like to see their accounts and lists of children and elderly that we supported they will be posted shortly on the Malawi board at the back of church, by the font.  Thank you for your support and generosity.

Sue Gregory.
