Received on 9th May 2013 From Fr. Joel about the Malawi Orphans.

9-05-2013 Received from Fr. Joel Malanda of the Living Bread Organisation Malawi.

Hi Paul

Thanks for trying to source mosquito nets for the children here. People use nets here and those misuse them haven’t heard. There are a lot of mosquitoes here and how can one just throw them away and mosquitoes feeding on them? Here according to statistics 18,000 people each day get Malaria. Mosquito nets are needed for sure here.

Rev. Tucker has not communicated to me until now so we welcome him if he comes. Colleges donating nets to us, it will be difficult unless the organizations donated instruct them to donate to us. If there are known to you and others please let us know them and we try to ask for these nets. They will be of help to the children.

Dioceses are assisted by Birmingham Diocese but these donations are used for diocesan administration only and have never heard that parishes have been assisted.

Thanks that donors were impressed the way we did. It is good for the donor to see where his help goes and we will keep this please.

Isaac’s entrance results will be out September and if selected January 2014 starts studies. Audrey starts exams on 3rd June and remembers her in prayer.

Greeting to Sue, Robin, Mary and entire family.

In His Vineyard,

Joel

PS from editor.  Christian Aid are currently fund-raising in the U.K. for mosquito nets for vulnerable communities.  However, both Fr. Joel and Christian Aid have indicated that they are not at present operating in Malawi.  From what Fr. Joel says there is still an obvious need for nets and tuition on how to use them in Malawi.
